Subvision Festival describes Off as ‘a form of cultural production that deliberately delimit themselves from established and commercial business activities.’ Associated with Subculture and underground, ‘a counter-position of what is regarded as on, or mainstream… off – in the sense of a standpoint of assertion that sets itself off and comments on what is displayed’.
The requirements of this invitation include placing or making ‘Art’ in/with the provided containers that are already branded by the shipping company logos.
Since Subvision Festival collaborates with the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the Deichtorhallen, the art academy HFBK, and Multinational shipping companies (Mainstreams) to organize and sponsor this festival for underground and critical art initiatives globally; Since we are recognized as an underground and off initiative, we’ll retain this character of counter-position by being the Off program of an Off festival and callSubvision Festival itself into questions.
